AMELINE QUI DOSNOIE
Ameline qui dosnoie is a beautiful young courtesan from Paris, who came to the House of the Lotus by way of Venizia. After the death of her father, Ameline’s mother was unable to afford the exorbitant dowry expected of her, so Ameline left her family home for Venice. There, she gained entry into one of the city’s famed courtesan houses, where she was taught the skills of a cortigiana onesta: music, philosophy, charm, and witty repartee, among other, more practical skills.
Ameline quickly gained fame and fortune, and she used that fame to gain entry to posh parties and illustrious beds. She wanted very much to see the world, and so took every opportunity to travel. On one of her international expeditions, Ameline accompanied a patron to Isfahan, Persia. It was there that she first came in contact with Sayyida Laila al-Sanna’ al-Andalusiyya, who offered her a place at the House of the Lotus. Intrigued by the surprising comfort and freedom with which Persian courtesans lived, Ameline decided to take up Sayyida Laila’s offer and give the life of a Persian courtesan a try.
Ameline qui dosnoise has been dabbling in the SCA for a few years, but recently decided to dive in more seriously. She is an enthusiastic fiber artist, and occasional dancer, and a gatherer of crafts who is always looking for more A&S things to try.
Ameline lives in the Shire of Midland Vale, and is a former resident of the Barony of Concordia of the Snows. She is a member of the Known World Courtesans’ Guild and the Velvet Mask (the East Kingdom courtesans’ guild).
